Like every individual, these Twins had an ambition; to produce their own music. Their passion in music and their musical talent led these young Twins to share their gift with others. What started out as creating music for entertainment among peers, directed these young Stars to remix Tamil, Hindi and English songs. With great effort, these once unpopular twins are now known in Canada, England, France, Australia, Malaysia and in several other countries as TwinstarZ . Being multilingual gave these twins the opportunity to introduce Tamil and Hindi music inimitably reaching the lives of young people worldwide. With every step being a success point for these young Stars, they have up to date released six chapters: IthayaM, UllasaM, NesaM, PriyaM, SwasaM, and most recently VaseeyaM. Currently, these twins are hard at work on the next chapter to this collection, chapter 7 ChellaM, which will be made available shortly. UllaM, a long awaited and anticipated DVD project, has sadly been postponed and will also be released at a later date. In association with ' International', TwinStarZ fans can also find more of these twins in their DVD release 'Isai Amutham'.
Now for a more personal look at the lives of these StarZ ..
During early 1990s, the twins expanded their knowledge of music and rhythm through various Tamil movies and other Western music. The twins were fascinated with the melody and rhythm composed by a popular Tamil musician, Illayrajah. In entertaining their friends, Shiyan, Mahmud and Ahmed, these boys created several tunes and mixes within their own home. This flair for music gave the twins the opportunity to deejay in a small nightclub called “SmOgen” in Holbaek, Denmark and at other small gatherings. In 1994, the twins created their first remix to a Tamil song, “Mellisaijey” from the movie “Mr. Romeo.” With only a six channel mixer, Casio keyboard, a 16 bit/sec Sampler and a Dennon CD player (pitched player), they created their very first remix. In order to pursue their education the twins decided to move to Toronto, Canada.
Their move to Canada gave them the opportunity to comprehend the need for young Tamil individuals to be reminded of their language. Young Tamils enjoyed listening to Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Techno and other Western music; however the awareness of the wonderful lyrics and melody in Tamil music was almost foreign to many individuals. This lack of understanding of Tamil music gave the twins the drive to produce Tamil remix and introduce Tamil music in a favourable method. This motivation led to the creation of a seventeen track remixes, “TwinGrind.” Unfortunately, the tracks were unreleased due to lack of funding and support. However this did not stop the twins from making their music heard by others. They began to burn their songs and hand out the CD to their friends.
Even though the remixes were not released, the encouragement and support for their music grew. Their peers were astonished with what they heard. This gave the twins the desire to continue creating their own unique remixes. In 1999, many young deejays began to share their talents. This gave the twins the knowledge of the remix business. They soon learned the processes in releasing their own remix CD. As their life in music began to grow, these twins, known as Vishnu [Dj StaRama] and Sri [Dj ThunDeR], had to identify themselves as one. The idea of them being twins and becoming a star led to their name; TwinStarZ. They developed an official webpage to reach young individuals all over the world, www.twinstarz.com . Since Twinstars, with an‘s', was unavailable, the twins chose a unique identity, “TwinStarZ".
October 20, 2000 was an unforgettable day for TwinstarZ. Their first CD, IthayaM, was released. To their surprise, IthayaM was a huge success. TwinstarZ sold approximately 2000 copies within Canada. Not only had they sold out there official 2000 copies, but they also had sent about a 1000 copies to London, Paris, and Denmark. Their website, began to overflow with fan emails. They were praised for their uniqueness and talent. TwinstarZ named their first released CD, IthayaM, as a symbol of their music coming from their heart. It was only later, with their second CD did they began a pattern in selecting the names of their CDs; all the names ending with an “M'.
November 17, 2001, almost a year since their huge success, TwinStarZ released their second album, UllasaM. By this time, TwinstarZ was well known and they began their own production known as TSR (TwinStarZ Recordz). From the great satisfaction the fans received with their first album, TwinStarZ easily sold more than 3000 copies within Toronto. Once again they had sent their second CD to London and Paris. However, the individuals they dealt with never informed them of their sales; this led them to hold back their distribution to these countries.
These stars were on a roll with their third album, NesaM. They released NesaM for Valentine's Day, 2002, featuring Dj Linen.
Within a few months, the stars introduced a unique style for the first time in TSR history; 3 in 1 style. Their fourth album, PriyaM, gave an extraordinary success. PriyaM included 9 Tamil Groove Remixes, 5 Selection songs with movie soundtrack vocals and the Ultimate Dappaanguthu Megamix. PriyaM was the hit of all times. You were able to hear the Dappaanguthu Megamix at wedding receptions, parties, gatherings and jams. The Stars were now known as the ultimate TwinstarZ who knew how to attract young individuals. During this time, Universities in Toronto requested them to play at their annual formals. TwinStarZ even had the opportunity to appear live on CTBC Radio & CMR radio101.3 FM.
The apparent support from thousands of fans and their confidence in making it big, led them to step back from releasing CDs and focus on a new field of remix. In 2003, the Stars took a new approach to introduce their gift of remix. In collaboration with DV Thamilan (Chandran & Ajith), they released Isay Amutham, a 26 track Tamil video remix. This album was released and distributed worldwide by International. This DVD remix was the first Tamil Video Remix in 5.1 surround. Once again, this album was also a huge triumph for the Stars.
Becoming involved with other aspects of their lives, the Stars held back their release of SwasaM for almost three years since their chapter four; PriyaM. However, with continuous request from fans, the Stars released their fifth CD, SwasaM, in February of 2006. SwasaM was created into two parts. Part one was released on a CD and distributed among several retailers. Part two, consisted of ten songs, which were made available to those who purchased the original CD and for TSR registered members online via their website. Once again to their surprise they were sold out within a month of releasing their CD.
The passion for music has led these Stars to complete their sixth album, VaseeyaM. VaseeyaM is an outstandingly amazing masterpiece of TwinStarZ. They have not only included Tamil Groove remixes, but also introduced another Ultimate Dappaanguthu Megamix. Using a different approach to their marketing strategy, VaseeyaM was released for the first time as an official release at CMR TVI “Kondaaddam”, an International festival held in Toronto on May 20th 2006. This was a special day for TwinstarZ and even for their fans, where they after 6 years of music production got to meet one another. VaseeyaM was also made available at stores in London, Paris, Denmark, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries in Asia.
Understanding that not everyone can easily have access to a store near them, the Stars continue to make their CDs, various Netreleases, and backstage access available to registered members on their forum.

Known formerly as twins during their adolescent, then as TwinStarZ, these two talented individuals have come far in the business of remix and music. Their vast knowledge of music, instruments, computer software and technology allows them to produce extraordinary mixes for every person to enjoy. They have set many examples for young generations to follow their dreams. The success of TwinStarZ is an example of how, with a little motivation and ambition, anything is possible.
